I'm inspired by the amount of strength, persistence, and resistance that people have despite what they are up against. There are many stories of resistance to colonialism but resistance to me means treating each other well and not being afraid to challenge the ways of thinking that divide us e.g. challenging racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism etc. I believe that as people we can move a lot farther ahead if we change the linear ways of thinking that work to divide us and we must see how we... My grandmother who stood up to soldiers at war, my mother who worked from sunlight to starlight, my sister's commitment to our family, my brothers' hard work to make us happy. I am inspired by persistence in the face of pain, endurance in the face of poverty, courage in the face of adversity. I am humbled by the faces of children who struggle through unfair and inhumane circumstances. I learn from them and I live a better person because of them. Life inspires me, the fact that I can wake up every day and breathe meaning I have the power for that day to do something that will have a positive impact on society at large. At times people inspire me, those that need help and cannot somehow due to unavoidable circumstances have that help and I can help them ... then am inspired! ( lire plus...)
